The Horticulture Center was established in 1994 with the acquisition of land on the west side of Naikhyangchhari Haji MA Kalam Degree College at the southern end of Sadar Union, about 2 km away from Naikhyangchhari Upazila Sadar. On the eve of the opening of the center, a garden development project was started with two officers and 14 employees with the assistance of ADB. As the Horticulture Development Project expired on 31st December, 1999, the project was re-transferred to Revenue Department from 1st January, 2000. The Naikhyangchhari Horticulture Center has gained a good reputation for producing quality seedlings by producing a large number of seedlings in the Horticulture Center since its inception in the revenue sector.
